Details
Haley House is excited to be holding a series of summer cooking classes foryouth ages 8 and up at our Dudley Square café (commercial) kitchen. The
classes will occur once a week for 4, 6, or 8 weeks on weekday afternoons
and evenings as well as Saturdays. Classes are small (up to 12 kids) as
Chef Didi Emmons and various guest chefs will be exploring many facets of
cooking: knife skills and basic cooking skills, the importance of
vegetables and fruits, healthy snacking, and the beauty of cooking from a
range of cultures. Each series also includes 1 day at our organic farm in
Winchendon (about an hour away) with its own curriculum. The classes will
most likely be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 to 6 (and
possibly Saturdays mid-day) at the café. We are seeking nearby summer
community programs or camps that would be interested in partaking and
contributing financially (IF POSSIBLE). Transportation and chaperoning to
and from Haley House would be necessary.
Please let me know if you are interested ASAP - we are starting to program
the curriculum in the next few weeks.
