The Medical Foundation is seeking 6 bloggers (one blogger from each of the 6 regions in the state) ages 14 - 17.

The84 – Massachusetts’ youth tobacco prevention movement managed by The MedicalFoundation – is seeking 6 bloggers (one blogger from each of 6 regions in the state) ages 14-
17. Bloggers will be responsible for submitting a blog of approximately 300 words every week for
posting on The 84’s website, www.the84.org. Bloggers will participate in 2 to 3 meetings (online
or by phone) throughout the year when blog ideas will be discussed. Commitment is one entry a
week from September 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. Bloggers can work from home and do not need
to come to The Medical Foundation’s office. Bloggers will be compensated at $18/entry.
The84 is a youth-led online movement in Massachusetts to promote tobacco-free lifestyle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bloggers should be:
• Massachusetts resident
• Committed to promoting teen health, especially tobacco prevention
• Good writer/blogger; ideally has blogging experience
• Web-savvy
• Dependable and can meet deadlines
• Creative and have topic ideas for blogging that addresses things like: how young people
are bringing about change, what young people are passionate about, how media and
marketing impact young people (and how young people can shape media), exposing the
marketing tactics of Big Tobacco, and connecting young people to resources they can
use to have an impact.
