Part-time Education Coordinator
A position at The Theater Offensive
The Theater Offensive, New England¹s leading lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender theater company, seeks an Education Coordinator to work as a part-time member of the Education Department.
Hours: Part-time
Education Coordinator, working directly with the Director of Education and True Colors: Out Youth Theater, will be responsible for a variety of general administrative duties & program elements. Candidates should have relevant experience in non-profit work, education and working in diverse urban communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist with general administrative duties including answering phones,
processing mail, space reservations, routing information, and filing
* Organization/Maintenance of all program records, files, databases,
contracts, payments, reports and evaluations
* Assist with program documentation, such as collecting unit plans,
archiving photos and video footage and tracking release forms
* Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with teaching artists,
community organizations, program collaborators, teachers and school
leadership, mainly through email and phone contact
* Participate in generating grant proposals, contract management and reports
to program funders in conjunction with the Director of Education
* Assist with data collection and documentation for evaluation and outcomes
measurement.
* Assist in evaluation data synthesis and analysis; developing project
reports
* Create support materials for use in the school performances and workshops
* Draft, format, and proofread education correspondence
* Produce materials and language for company website
* Assist in promoting and publicizing True Colors
* Assist selected classes and productions as needed
* Manage college interns
* Present programs at arts conferences & fairs
* Some evening and weekend hours required
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* BA degree (arts administration or theatre education preferred), or
equivalent in experience
* Demonstrated interest or background in theatre and/or education
* Minimum one-year work experience in an office setting
* Preferably, experience working with young people in a teaching or
mentoring capacity
* Must be detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, multi-tasking and
problem-solving abilities
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural setting as a team member
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced organization
* Must be a person of discretion, capable of handling confidential material
* Current driver¹s license preferred
* Mac OS and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficient
COMPENSATION
Competitive part-time salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits
