The Haley After-School Director will lead a unique after-school educational program located at the Dennis C. Haley Elementary School.

Hours: Full-time

The Haley After-School Director will lead a unique after-school educational
program located at the Dennis C. Haley Elementary School. Administered by the Haley in
collaboration with community partners, the program engages approximately 110 students
from kindergarten through 5th grade, multiple community volunteers, and full-time and
part-time staff, plus volunteers and contracted services. The Director is responsible for
supervising, coaching and developing staff; recruiting and managing volunteers and pro-
bono services; refining and implementing curricula; recruiting students; coordinating
After-school logistics; developing relationships with parents and school personnel;
identifying and applying for funding; and community organizing. The Haley Director must
possess a commitment to education, a passion for community building, and demonstrated
experience in education and staff development.

The Haley is a Boston Public School located in Roslindale. The goal of the After-School
Program is to provide academic support, arts and enrichment and physical fitness.

Responsibilities Include:
Leadership
1. Supervise, coach and develop 12 after-school staff, 8 contract service providers and
multiple volunteers.
2. Develop and maintain strong school relationships with the principal, teachers,
community partners and other staff at the Haley School.
3. Forge meaningful relationships with students' guardians and other family members
through ongoing communication and engagement efforts.
4. Build community relationships through targeted outreach, key on and off-campus
events and development of strategic local partnerships
5. Ensure dissemination of key organizational information among school staff,
community partners and community members.

Program Administration and Management
1. Deliver and assure quality of the Haley After-School Program
2. Develop and instill strong after-school culture among staff, contracted service
providers, parents and community members
3. Work closely with community partners to manage and document logistics, including
budget, tuition collection, federal snack/lunch program participation, licensing, staff
timesheets, database information
4. Ensure health & safety of all participants and compliance with all Boston Public
Schools and state standards
5. Develop funding proposals.

Qualifications:
• Proven coaching and development skills, including demonstrated ability to support,
teach, and lead staff
• Significant experience in education, youth development and/or youth program
administration
• Prior experience with non-profit organizations, management or program operations
preferred
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
• Highly developed interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills and organizational skills
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Energy, creativity, initiative and entrepreneurial zeal
• Resilience, resourcefulness and enthusiasm
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and dedication to excellence in After-school
education

Compensation and Benefits $35,000 to $40,000, depending on experience, plus excellent
benefits, including six weeks of vacation.
